The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) convened the Standards and Frameworks Validation Committee: Literacy/English Language Arts (SFVC Literacy/ELA) to review and refine the existing Literacy/ELA Standards. The standards promote a clear and consistent progression of literacy skills from PreK through Grade 12. The SFVC Literacy/ELA team is excited to share the standards work accomplished with Maryland stakeholders.
 

The resources are organized first by grade level bands and then by the Literacy Strands (Reading Literature, Reading Informational Text, Writing, Language, and Speaking and Listening).
