Current status summary: As of October 3, 2026, a technical issue has made the full MSDE website unavailable. A temporary website with a limited set of pages is available, as well as an archive copy of the previous site pages. A new website with more pages is planned for December, 2026.

What happened
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) website is not available because of a technical problem. We are sorry for any trouble this caused.
To keep key information available, we built a new, temporary website with a limited set of our most visited pages.
What to expect
This temporary website will be the MSDE website until a new website launches. We are planning that launch for December 2026.
Until then, we do not expect to add many pages. If that changes, we will update this page.
The new website will have more pages. Some content will be reorganized and updated, so some page addresses may change.
