Technology & Engineering Education
Technology and Engineering Education is a hands-on, problem-based approach to learning that helps students understand how technology is created, used, and impacts the world.
Grounded in the Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy (STEL), it teaches students to think critically, design solutions, and apply knowledge from science, math, and other subjects to real-world challenges. Through activities like designing prototypes, analyzing systems, and exploring how technologies affect society and the environment, students develop both technical and creative skills. This field of study prepares learners to become informed, innovative thinkers who can adapt in a rapidly changing technological world. In Maryland, Technology and Engineering Education is an essential part of K–12 learning, building a strong foundation for future success in STEM fields and beyond.
